Hello everyone!

We’ll it’s that time of the year! The Enid Farmers Market is back and we are looking forward to an outstanding 2010 season!
First, I want to let you know I’ve attached a schedule NicoleWinfield, our Special Events Coordinator, has put together of this season’s events and our goals for each. The first to come is GreEnid, a one day event at the Market to promote local businesses and environmentally conscious ways of living. We have some fun things planned for the kids that day! One of the coolest is a potato race sponsored by NBC Bank. They have provided free “wheel kits” available beginning May 29th at the Market info desk. Bring you child to a Saturday market sometime before June 26th to pick up their wheel kit, help them carve a car/Mr. Potato Head/whatever they like out of a potato, throw on the wheels and come to our GreEnid event for a friendly little competition!
Second, we started out the season strong with vendors, even having produce left at the close of Market. For as much as I’m going to miss the fresh salad greens, the cool weather crops have transitioned out to make way for the warm sun and all that it brings! We have all of our produce vendors on board from last year as well as some new ones and now that the weather is warming, you should start to see them all within the next couple of weeks.
As for the vendors in general, the plain truth is we need your constant support to keep them coming back. This is a busy time of year, but for our third Saturday last year, attendance was around 450 more than attended the Market last Saturday. Sales are great nonetheless as one vendor last week had one of the highest sales ever, but the energy that comes from you showing up is what helps carry us along! It may take a couple of weeks to get the balance of vendor’s and customer’s to level out, but the bottom line is we want to see you there so we can continue to grow in the ways you have requested!
Finally, we are always looking for individuals who want to participate with the market in any fashion. If you our someone you know would like to find out more about the Market, please feel free to contact me anytime.
We are so excited to be back and can’t wait to see you at the Market… So set your alarms and get out of bed!
Every Saturday, 8-11, Grand and Garriott.
