Voting along party lines, the Republican-controlled House passed a bill Tuesday that would strip public schoolteachers of the “trial de novo” portion of their due-process laws.

House Bill 1380, by Rep. Corey Holland, a former teacher, passed 69-31 with Republicans voting for it and all 31 Democrats voting against it.
