Gerald Bowen, age 37, was arrested yesterday afternoon for one count of Possession of Child Pornography and one count Violation of the Computer Crimes Act.

Steve Tanio is an investigator with the District #26 District Attorney’s Office. He began an undercover online investigation into the file sharing of child pornography on November 15, 2011. Investigator Tanio located a user who was sharing known child pornography files. Investigator Tanio learned that the user lived at 734 W. Hickory in Enid.

Investigator Tanio and the Enid Police Department conducted a joint investigation and served a search warrant yesterday at Bowen’s residence, 734 W. Hickory and located evidence of the crime.

Investigator Tanio and Sgt. Dustin Albright met with Bowen at his workplace, Star Tek 116 E. Randolph. Bowen admitted that he downloaded the child pornography and that he was aware it was on his computer. He also admitted that he stored child pornography on other media storage devices and they were located in a local mini storage facility. Bowen advised them that the child pornography he downloaded was pictures or videos of sexual acts being performed by persons from the ages of 4 to 17 years old.

Bowen is being held without bond at the Garfield County Detention Facility.
