Mike Gundy named Paul “Bear” Bryant Coach of the Year
The Route 60 Sentinel would like to congratulate Oklahoma State head football coach Mike Gundy for being named the Paul “Bear” Bryant Coach of the Year Thursday at the Bear Bryant award dinner in Houston, Texas.
Gundy, whose Cowboys are 23-3 over the past two seasons, coached the team to a 12-1 record and a 41-38 overtime victory over the Stanford Cardinal in the Fiesta Bowl. The victory in Glendale, Arizona marked Oklahoma State’s first BCS bowl appearance and capped off the best season in school history. The “Bear” Bryant award is given by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association.
