Main Street Enid Announces Kelly Tompkins as New Program Manager

Main Street Enid, Inc. announced Kelly Tompkins as it’s new Program Manager on Thursday. “I am thrilled to pieces to be able to make an impact on our downtown,” she said in an email to the Route 60 Sentinel.  When asked for any future ideas or plans, she added “I would love to add more music, art and entertainment, making downtown even more of a destination spot. I can’t wait to help the members and merchants with marketing tips and training and I look forward to the event planning as well.”

Tomkins will be replacing long time manager, Lindy Chambers who was recently named Oklahoma Main Street Manager of the Year. Chambers has been involved with Main Street Enid since 1994 when the program began.  “I am honored to follow in the footsteps of Lindy Chambers, whom I greatly admire,” said Tompkins.   “I hope to make her proud and look forward to the continued rise of downtown Enid.”

Tompkins has long been a proponent of downtown development and has been active with the organization as a volunteer in the past.

Tompkins will begin as Manager on May 15th.

Mark Keefer

Mark was born not in Enid, America but rather Okeene. At a very young age, his family transplanted to Enid and he has lived his entire life here except for a 4 year stint in the Kansas City area. Mark was brought up listening to the jets roar overhead and sight of wheat trucks hauling in the harvest to some of the world's largest grain elevators. Mark strongly believes in Enid's potential and is currently raising his family here based on that belief. He also still believes in Santa Claus so take that for what it's worth
