Reluctant Matchmaker

Title: The Reluctant Matchmaker

Author:  Shobhan Bantwal

The Reluctant Matchmaker is about a contemporary thirty-one year old Indian-American woman whose family wants to see her successfully married. After all, her biological clock is ticking. Meena Shenoy is all of five feet tall and works as a PR Manager at a high-tech firm. She literally collides with karma, aka the giant of CEO Prajay Nayak and ends up with a sprained ankle.

After a week of being driven to and from work by Prajay, Meena develops feelings for this gentle giant. Just as Meena’s thoughts turn to romance Prajay asks her to help him find suitable wife. Someone who is also Indian, sophisticated, oh, and at least six feet tall to compliment his height. Despite feeling crushed by his requirements Meena agrees to help him. She helps him several other times and I wanted to yell at Prajay for being too stupid to read Meena’s emotions. I loved it! I read the book in about a day because the story is a lot of fun fast moving with beautiful insight to the Indian-American culture.
