REGARDING THE DEVELOPMENT OF 2013 – 2017 FIVE YEAR CONSOLIDATED PLAN

OF ACTIVITIES FOR COORDINATED NEIGHBORHOOD AND

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIES TO BE SUBMITTED

The City of Enid invites and encourages all interested citizens, agencies, non‑profit organizations and other interested parties to attend a series of public meetings and hearings, the first of which is scheduled for:

Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. in the City Commission Chambers located in the City Administration Building, 401 W. Owen K. Garriott, Enid, Oklahoma

 

A second public hearing is scheduled for:

Monday, December 3, 2012 at 6:00 p.m in the city Commission Chambers located in the City Administration Building, 401 W. Owen K. Garriott, Enid, Oklahoma

The purpose of these meetings are to give the public an opportunity to participate in the NEEDS ASSESSMENT phase of the Five-Year Consolidated Plan and in planning the FY-13 activities to achieve the neighborhood and community development strategies to be identified in the five year consolidated plan. It is envisioned that the needs identified will be met through the use of federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) as contained in the upcoming Five Year Consolidated Action Plan. The City of Enid will submit the 2013 – 2017 Five Year Consolidated Plan and Annual Action Plan of activities to the U.S. Department of Housing Urban Development in May 2013.

The CDBG program, which is a grant under the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), is administered using a program year running from July 1 to June 30.

The City of Enid encourages all interested citizens, agencies, non-profit organizations and other interested parties to participate in planning a coordinated neighborhood and community development strategy for the 2013 – 2017 Consolidated Action Plan.  If special accommodations are needed, please contact the CDBG Department by November 26, 2012.  If you are unable to attend the hearing, please feel free to make written comments to the address below. PUBLIC MEETING ON MASTER PARKS PLAN:

On Monday November 5, 2012 the City of Enid will hold a public meeting in the City Council Chambers at 401 W. Owen K. Garriott from 6:00pm to 7:30pm to discuss the Preliminary Parks Master Plan with the public.  Residents are encouraged to come to the meeting to ask questions about the plan and provide input.

ROADS UPDATE:

On Thursday November 8, 2012, east and west access to Van Buren Street from Elm Avenue on will be closed to allow for water line installation.   This will take approximately one week.

Motorists are urged to use an alternate route and to use extreme caution whenever entering any construction zone.
