The age old question….we’ve all been tempted to do this, right? Is it really that bad? Am I an ungrateful cottonheaded ninnymungins if I don’t want to keep those stereo headphone earmuffs?
Well, Nelly was raised just outside the “waste-not-want-not” generation (but close enough to hear it a million times and actually appreciate it), and by golly, if you aren’t going to use it, then give it to someone who will! If you won’t use the headphone/earmuffs, and you know an avid walker who would probably be thrilled to have them, then pass them on! Just remember not to re-gift it to someone close to the original giver, lest you hurt someone’s feelings. It helps to label gifts
that you plan to re-gift, and that way you won’t embarrass yourself. There is one really big no-no in regifting though…. Don’t re-gift something unless you really think the person you’re giving it to would enjoy it. A wine and cheese set given to someone who is dairy intolerant will not fly, my friend. Be thoughtful in your re-gifting. Who knows…?? Maybe you’ve missed the mark a time or two and someone else is regifting your present. And why shouldn’t they? After all, waste not, want not!
