Happy New Year from your friends at Visit Enid! We hope you and yours had a wonderful holiday season full of family, friends and fellowship. And I have to tell you I am somewhat glad to get back to a normal routine.

The event calendar for this week is a little bare as people and their businesses get back to that routine. Why not take this week to visit some of our local attractions, those places that visitors come to Enid to see? Wherever we live, there are always places you say you want to visit but always put them off, thinking it can be done another time because they are always there. This would be a great week for you to visit some of our local attractions that are open regularly but you never take time to see. Consider a trip to the Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center, named Oklahoma’s best new attraction in 2012. Leonardo’s Children’s Museum is a hands-on art and science museum that has welcomed over one million children since its doors opened in 1995. The Railroad Museum of Oklahoma has the world’s largest collection of dining car china and offers caboose excursions twice a year. And did you know the Garfield County Courthouse has historical murals painted in the 1930s that still look as vivid as the day the paint was put on the canvas? Enid has a lot to offer on a daily basis, so take some time this week to visit somewhere you’ve said you wanted to go but haven’t.
