Title: Frost Burned (7th in the Mercy Thompson series)
Author: Patricia Briggs
After River Marked in 2011, I thought perhaps Patricia Briggs was finished with this series, though I had hoped not. Then, last year, with all her other projects there wasn’t a new Mercy book and I cried. Just a little.
After a long and torturous two-year wait (well for me) Mercy Thompson, coyote, mechanic, alpha-mate has fully recovered from the injuries she received on her honeymoon. However she is thrown back into the fire when Adam and the rest of the pack are kidnapped and she’s the next target. Mercy calls upon some old friends for help. The next thing I knew it was 2 am, I was 2/3 of the way through the book and had to be up in a few hours for an 8 shift. Not unheard of for me.
I cannot express how much I adore every book in this series. Even her Alpha and Omega series which is a spin-off of this series is very much worth reading. I wish more writers could draw me into a book like Patricia Briggs. When I read this series I feel like I’m part of the world and am completely saddened when I read the last page and have to leave and go back to reality. Luckily, I’ve taken a peek at her website and there are works in progress for more Mercy and the gang.
Series order: Moon Called, Blood Bound, Iron Kissed, Bone Crossed, Silver Borne, River Marked, Frost Burned
