Citizen's Police Academy

Citizen’s Police Academy

Twice a year, the department opens it’s doors to the citizens of Enid in an up close and personal class.  The multi-week course shows the citizens exactly how the police department operates on a daily basis and what they deal with when they are out and about in our community.

Citizens are shown videos, get to experience time at the gun range, get to see the K-9 units work up close, and get to see the ups and downs the officers get to deal with in a shift.  The citizen gets to go on a ride-along with an officer towards the end of the course and everything culminates at graduation.  Highly recommended for anyone who has doubts or is dubious about the police department.  It is an eye-opener.
